Hope is most important when it seems that there is none left.

So I just went to a conference held by WATSA which is the Tamil Student Association here in Waterloo. It was sponsored by CHRV - Canadian Human Rights Voice - and they discussed the events during and following the war in Sri Lanka that "ended" in 2009. It is sad to think that things like this still happen around the world and go unnoticed. Truthfully, I myself was not fully aware of this and that is part of the problem. To have knowledge is to have power and to have power is to be able to make a change, therefore I implore you, the reader, to inform yourselves. Always look to see the humanity in others, try to understand even the people that upset you. Listen to the news and educate yourselves in what is going on around us. Seek to make this world better for yourselves as well as for others.

I know this post is kind of random and what not but it does reignite some of my feelings towards how this world is and where it's headed. I'm not trying to be pessimistic but with so much potential it hurts to know that we're throwing it away because of our own selfish desires and ignorance.
