"You’re going to die and any illusion of happiness you may feel while in this life will be fleeting and short lived and eventually the crushing reality of losing what you had will destroy you and you will die alone and your genetic line will eventually be diluted and lost and any trace of you that ever was will dissipate and dissolve past a subatomic level until not even your atoms are left and all of this will happen in a relatively short amount of time and you will not leave one singular trace or impact on this whole world" - Anonymous

Read this today and I beg to differ.
You are not solely comprised of atoms and the physical. We are so much more than just the physical. We have thoughts, ideas, and emotions and this can be passed onto others. These things can be immortal but only if it extends beyond yourself. The thoughts you have can be shared with others who might also then propagate that to others. Your ideas can change the world and affect the lives of generations to come. Your emotions can ripple through the lives of many in both negative and positive ways. And this is the reason why we should aim not to live solely for ourselves but for the betterment of the people and the lives around us. Only then can you truly be immortal.

I don't know why but this quote kind of made me angry and disgusted because it is a selfish and pessimistic point of view on life. There is more to life then yourself. If it were not for other peoples ideas and hard work, we wouldn't have the things we have today. We are all connected and the least we can do is give back. I apologize but this has just been on my mind for quite some time now, especially since it was Lent/Holy Week. As a single being we are insignificant but when we live and work together we can make life better. But again that's why we experience things and communicate. In order to share our individual experiences and in our own little/big way, contribute to the rest of the world. We need to experience life but we cannot be consumed with our own lives because after all it is limited but life will go on without you.

Again I apologize for this rather long post but if you bothered to read it up to this point then take another second to think about what I'm trying to get across here. KNOW YOUR HUMANITY.

With that I'll leave you with a little something that I listen to at least once a week, especially when I go for a run.
